Bridge Road

There had been a pipe break, and the floor to the bathroom was damaged. I entered the job as some of the demolition had been done already. Originally, I was to tear up the floor, augment the floor joists as necessary, and take a window out of one of the walls (this had been an exterior wall and they had not removed the window when they added a sun-room). We decided to keep as much of the existing 1970’s cool yellow tiles as possible, and the existing vanity. The customer then decided that instead of replacing the bathtub, they wanted a walk-in shower. I framed an additional wall to complete the shower and prepped all three walls for subway tile. I drywalled the ceiling, patched the other walls, and matched all the walls by reusing original yellow tile where necessary. I also built and installed in-wall shelving.

The pictures? They enliven the work space; with the customers’ permission, I enclose them behind the finished walls (for more of the backstory, go here).
